I don't see how Christians can separate voting or praying from their walk. I believe it's perfectly proper for pastors or other Christian leaders to talk about politics from the pulpit, emphasizing the importance of standing up for Christian values when choosing who to vote for. However, I don't agree with having repentance for not praying for a leader as a "theme" for communion--I believe that should be between you and God. I did not vote for the president, but pray for him everyday as instructed by God. It almost seems that if the person you knew to be the better person to lead the country didn't win the election, you need to pray at least as much if not more than if your choice had won. I understand your decision about what to preach, but I think pastors have different responsibilities than perhaps others in the fivefold ministry. They are leading their people step-by-step in everyday lives, whereas traveling teachers, evangelists, etc. have a different assignment. I'm not saying a pastor should say vote for this person or that, but emphasizing we should be voting the Bible is definitely something that would benefit many!

This is something that is new to my experience with God. This form of ministry is not explained much in the church but the experience is definitely comforting!

PS:
Surely your singing isn't that bad!!! :-)

I use to hear you minister at Victory Christian Fellowship in Clovis ca. Pators Tom and Shelvia Tiemens.
I am a worship leader, and I appreciated your article. There are so many who are confused on this matter. There is nothing more beautiful than when a room full of Gods people are singing in uni some and with out any instruments and how Gods Glory shows up...Just beautiful. Blessings to you!

The passage starts with be imitators of Christ. This whole passage teaches you how to please the Lord. I think this is more about being imitators of Christ. Submission to the Word of God always keeps you in submission to others. Submit to your own husband as you do to the Lord. That will preach right there. Be thankful, tender hearted forgiving each other as Christ forgave you. Don't spend so much time on who is right and wrong. Be tender hearted.... how about just be nice. Be thankful for what you have. Serve each other gladly...find out how to please each other. Learn to forgive quickly and move on.
