Ambassador’s Custom Bible

Your trusted, old bible…

I recently lost my irreplaceable, preaching bible. It was an old, out of print loose-leaf bible, with my notes in the margins and inserted pages. It had my contact information in it, and I was in hopes someone would find it and return it to me. However, that’s not yet happened.

Here’s my solution:  I made a customized bible. I purchased a new, King James Version, wide-margin, large-print bible. Then, I ripped off the cover, guillotined the spine, and drilled holes through the pages. I cut a one-piece cover from saddle leather, and I bound it all together with chicago screws.

I can write in the margins and I can add extra note pages.

I decided to leave it plain, rather than embellish it with hand-tool decorations into the leather. It will develop a nice patina over time.

I never really liked preaching from an iPad (But, I often study with digital bibles). I prefer preaching from a real, organic bible.

Do you prefer real paper bibles or digital bibles?
